Interesting, well-written-- a good blend of history and narrative.

This book was awesome. A good historian can tell the history like a novel and keep things exciting. Talty does that and more. Great book!

This book (besides the ridiculously pompous title) is one of the worst sloughs of storytelling and grammatical skill I have ever slogged through.Far too much verbal wandering in the failed attempt to have a dual storyline.The next-to-last sentence in the book is a specimen of the grammatical sloppiness throughout: 'But you can't attempt to do what Morgan and his men did without seeing yourselves...more
