I thought this book was going to be more about her reason for becoming an atheist and what made her begin believing in God again. She did mention these things in the book...I would have just liked to have read more details on what drove her away from God and then back to Him so many years later. That was what appelaed to me in the first place when I heard about this book. I really felt that the descriptions of the churches and statues didn't really need to be in the book--that's what made it so boring and why I only gave it two stars. I realize that the churches and statues have profound meaning to her, but I think there was way too much description in these areas and not enough that focused on the falling away and coming back to her faith. It was an okay read, but I probably won't read it again.   hide

This is a must read for any cradle Catholic who has ever struggled with issues in the church.

this book rambles alot, but it remains an insightful view into the author's psyche. i love ann rice & i'm grateful for the experiences she shared that have helped me understand her books on a deeper level.

Bless her for writing this. I love her reflections and transparency.
