Grandin's life is very inspiring, her work with cattle very moving. She teaches us more than what it is like to live with autism, she teaches us respect for life. Her work is holy.

I'm not a Temple Grandin fan, but it was interesting to learn her thought process

Five star book in my opinion! A great look into how people with autism experience the world. I heard Ms. Grandin speak and she is a great communicator and knows a lot about the field of autism, in addition to having it herself.

Fascinating description of life from the perspective of a brilliant, articulate autistic woman. Dr. Temple Grandin is a leading animal scientist, designer of a third of the world's livestock handling facilties, and a popular speaker on autism. See the http://www.templegrandin.com/templehome.html and the BBC's "The Woman Who Thinks Like a Cow"...more

Extremely interesting. The author is able to effectively describe to readers her experience as a person living with Aspergers syndrome. She is a fascinating individual who has overcome extreme adversity and turned her "disability" into an asset. She is also able to shed some light on the often mysterious world of individuals affected by autism

Educational for me to understand my own kid. It is a fascinating look inside her world but the writting style can be a put off, yet that is also part of what makes the book interesting, the writing is part of the autism.

Temple opened up her mind and you know more about Autism from how she view this world, her way of thinkings, how she assess her ways of thinking and compare to those of 'normal' person's. Once picked up I can put this little book down. I greatly appreciate her effort on putting everything down in simple yet in-depth language, considering herself a visual thinker. Thank you Temple - thank you...more

I enjoyed this book, written by an adult with autism who carries a Ph.D. Temple Grandin had very insightful things to say about her condition, the importance of having parents pushing her and not resigning to her fate, and the remarkable visual and spatial abilities the autism provides and that allows Grandin to excel at her work. Well worth the read.

Very well educated, mind opening and original, her first hand experience with autism makes her a highly valuable expert/modern-day-genius on aspergers. Her explanation of autism and related behavioral issues bring to light so many questions I had previously developed. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
