A wonderful memoir.  Thank goodness I read it before the absurd Oprah thing.  Heart-wrenching and inspiring memoir about overcoming a powerful addiction.  Lessons for all of us.

I really liked this book and think it still has merit despite the fact that the author was "outed" for not telling a "true" story. It is a great story and very well written and I am sorry he got himself in trouble by claiming it was autobiographical...( he didn't really need to say that and  I think it would have been considered a very compelling book about drug addiction and healing without all...more
