more An extremely disappointing read. It was hard to get past the endless praise all over the covers (front and back) and on the pages inside. Finally approaching the author's ideas, I found myself trying to sift through a whole lot of unnecessary verbosity and countless anthropological stories that didn't seem connected. Very disappointing because the general concept is really interesting but honestly a terrible read. For the numerous versions of this book, I would like Lewis Hyde to attempt something a little more honest, personal, and "giving."
