Great book for those closet and not so closet comic book/manga fans out there. An adult's take on the comic book tale with all the relationships, hangups and self doubt the rest of us go through in our real super hero lives. Read it! You'll laugh and enjoy!

This book was easy to read and fast paced right from the beginning. I read it in one day. The supervillian section was really good and imaginitive I thought - especially the look inside the mind of the world's smartest man - who's lost every battle he's ever fought. The superhero part  never seemed to go anywhere for me. Also I was not so impressed with most of the supporting characters (most...more
 This book was easy to read and fast paced right from the beginning. I read it in one day. The supervillian section was really good and imaginitive I thought - especially the look inside the mind of the world's smartest man - who's lost every battle he's ever fought. The superhero part  never seemed to go anywhere for me. Also I was not so impressed with most of the supporting characters (most seemed like DC comic rip-offs and not much to offer in terms of character development). An enjoyable read but it left me feeling empty in the end.   hide

I enjoyed this book. The author does a good job of getting into the heads of people who aren't quite right in the head (both on the hero and the villain side). He also does a good job of balancing the fantastic elements of the superhero genre with just enough realism to make it interesting. You can tell that he's given a lot of thought to the universe he's created. The only drawback of the book...more

I was rooting for Doctor Impossible THE WHOLE TIME!  Really enjoyed seeing events unfold on the villains side of the story for a change.  

The only thing that stopped me from breezing through the book was the in depth descriptions that was scattered throughout the book.

As a comic reader, I was disappointed.

It was a tired rehash of the same old archetypes in the comic universe. It's like the author hasn't read anything in the last 20 years that deconstructed the genre already.

If you have really not read comics, then sure, but even then, it's nothing groundbreaking.

An alright book. Worth the read for Dr. Impossibles' point of view. They don't call them mad scientists form nothing.
