This is one of the best novels about the subject I have ever read. Most super hero novels are based on established characters so they have all the intended and unintended baggage. The genre itself carries some baggage but that is what the author carefully weaves into his story with a fresh perspective. It is not "realistic" but it does not completely embrace the less believable aspects of the genre. For instance, Dr. Impossible often complains about heroes that violate the fundamental laws of physics. I highly recommend this not only for comic book fans but to a wider audience who enjoy seeing genre stories tweaked in such a way as to bring new life to tired cliches.   hide

Good book for comic book fans, kinda Watchmen-esque. Told mainly from the villians perspective and to a lesser extant a new heroes.

An funny satire... First Person narrative told from the perspective of an evil genius and how rough it is being a "supervillian." It also has the flip-side: life told through the eyes of a female super-hero who is trying to impress the new super hero team she joined.

An alright book. Worth the read for Dr. Impossibles' point of view. They don't call them mad scientists form nothing.

Very entertaining and creative. I love how the author keeps flipping back and forth between the villain's point of view and the heroes' , it made it a very interesting and fun way to tell the story.

Why isn't there a status that says, "Lost interest"? I wanted to like this book but it couldn't keep my attention.

I was rooting for Doctor Impossible THE WHOLE TIME! Really enjoyed seeing events unfold on the villains side of the story for a change. The only thing that stopped me from breezing through the book was the in depth descriptions that was scattered throughout the book.

Great cover. But comix are comix for a reason. Introspective larger-than-life characters are maybe not served best by the novel medium.

Interesting, and a totally different way to look at the superhero genre. Very action-oriented, which maybe kept me from identifying with the characters as much.
