more This is one of the best novels about the subject I have ever read. Most super hero novels are based on established characters so they have all the intended and unintended baggage. The genre itself carries some baggage but that is what the author carefully weaves into his story with a fresh perspective. It is not "realistic" but it does not completely embrace the less believable aspects of the genre. For instance, Dr. Impossible often complains about heroes that violate the fundamental laws of physics. I highly recommend this not only for comic book fans but to a wider audience who enjoy seeing genre stories tweaked in such a way as to bring new life to tired cliches.
