This one of my new favorates. I know I will read it again. So historically lush. This story brings to life the realitis of the court of the Sun King and the building of Versailles, and the darker story of the Hugonats.

Loved it. A romatic historic novel about France during Louis 14 and after. History is woven with fiction and it takes you through the life of 3 fan makers. Great novel for a beach holiday.

One of my all time favorite books. I read this for the first time years ago when I was in high school and have re-read it many times. The history of Versailles is well interlaced into the lives of 4 generations of fictional women.

Read this years and years ago. It moves through several generations of women - and how they rise, little by little over years and years from low class to royalty.

An amazing adventure that takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. I'm of French ancestry, so I loved reading this novel that tells of our history from the Sun King to the Revolution.
