more A graphic novel. You find yourself shaking your head when you realize that no one really takes the upcoming hurricane too seriously. It's almost like the Noah and the Ark story. According to the book, many people did in fact leave, but the remain people that got left behind in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina really suffered. Conditions were sub-human, and yet where do we really place the blame? FEMA? The government? I guess the point of the book was maybe not to answer those questions but to show what the people had to do when faced with their situation. The book puts you there on the rooftop, at the convention center, in the heat, feeling the madness of the hot and thirsty crowd all around you. There's not time to blame anyone, you have to survive somehow. You have to find a way out. The story of Katrina is still ongoing....and time will peel back the layers...maybe we'll know everything one day.
