more This was a great read for my day at the beach. The main character, who studies and practices yoga and writes 'idiot guides' to pay her rent is asked to go to India to write a book 'Enlightenment for Idiots'. She visits gurus, ashrams, temples and meets a slew of fascinating people on similar quests. Each chapter begins with a quote from various Yogis and spiritual folk and though it is in part a fluffy commentary on a dysfuncational American's quest for enlightnement it is also an interesting and thought-provoking commentary on karma, yoga, the diffrent spiritual paths that can supposedly lead to enlightenment (as well as a look at the roots of Yoga in its' birth-place: India). India was already on my hit-list of countries to visit and now its' in the top five. Well done, Cushman.
