Great book with a sad end!

I love the way Pamuk writes even if it is a 532 page novel. All his novels start very well and by the one third of the book one wonders if it is greatest thing ever written but by the time it ends a little polish was off for me. Individual sequences in his lovely style are very good. The long Engagement scene was awesome. There is a certain section of the book which almost becomes a handbook of getting hurt even further if you are nursing a heart break & your loved one is someone else's. Unrequited Love has been my favourite theme all along and Pamuk does touch that in it in a beautiful sad manner. I wish I had bought this one to read rather than borrow it from my friend Pankaj Kapoor. Among his novels I like Snow the best.   hide
