Love in the Time of Cholera (Vintage International)

I don't understand how these big English words could have been translated from SPanish.

I found this book very difficult to read overall. I started it three or four times before I finished it because I just couldn't get into the characters and the story. When I finally made the commitment to read it, it still took me over a year to finish it. I found this book very difficult to read overall. I started it three or four times before I finished it because I just couldn't get into the characters and the story. When I finally made the commitment to read it, it still took me over a year to finish it. This book impressed me by the narrative speech. You get very involved in everyone's life, you are living in that time, you know all the details. But it was too much for me.. I can't understand a love like that. Maybe way back I thought things could be so intense and dramatic, but not now. I recommend this book to those who enjoy reading but are less sarcastic.

I found this book really difficult to finish. It took me almost 9 months to read the 348 pages. I couldn't identify with the characters which made it difficult to really get into the story.

i expected more. i expected another "100 years of solitude", actually, but it's totally different. the beauty of "100 years of solitude" is that it's a book about everything. "love in the time of cholera" is about only one thing. it's not bad but it makes the plot not thick enough

I became a fan of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's work after reading this novel.. I even ended up watching the movie(with the same title) , which was made based on this book. A beautiful story. I loved it much more that his immortal "100 years of Solitude". I would highly recommend this book.. rating = 4/5

don't say this about many books, but I HATED IT!
