Beautifully composed words put in a dialogue -but I didn't comprehend shit.
Hard core read. Fans of Shakespeare or Edgar Poe may enjoy it.
I loved the movie. Great love story; lust, love & loyalty.
The soundtrack by Alexandre Desplat is orgasmic.
This is one of those rare cases where the movie is better than the book. I'm sure that much was lost in the translations and I hope to revisit it someday when I can read Chinese.
I was amazed at how much more nuanced, delicate, and evocative the film was by comparison with the short story. That's what you get for reading in translation.
