Enjoyable short story collection

Heartwrenching.

I read it in Chinese. It was good, but I thought Ang Lee's movie was better.

One of the few times I've seen, where the movie's better...

Written as a short play, this stylish work has recently been released as a major film by Ang Lee. The film has been censored heavily in China, so I thought I'd read the book first before watching it on DVD. A very fun read - written in a very modern, almost Western style.

I have to agree with the others, it WAS an assassination gone wrong :(

it's amazing how lee ang meticulously adapted the novella and stretched it to a full feature length movie.
