Linda Fairstein does it again.  Another entertaining, well written thriller.  She's a wonderful storyteller, and that's no small feat.

The usual excellent page-turner from Fairstein. Better than her contemporaries in the gruesome crime genre, she always keeps the tension up right to the end.

She's an ADA in Manhattan and works with two detectives from the NYPD. The call her Blondie and talk about her body and put their hands on her legs. This would be typical 1940's behavior but if the books took place in the 1940's we wouldn't have a female ADA.  And no female ADA in 2010 would put up with this behavior. The stories aren't even that good. I had to plod through this one just to...more

Ms. Fairstein is a real ADA in Manhattan and I think she's basing the books on how she sees herself.  Get over yourself.   hide

good crime thriller.  I enjoyed the information about Bannerman's fortress and other fortresses and historic military sites on islands near NYC.  I passed by Bannerman's fortress on the Windy II delivery two years ago and it was fun to see it featured.

Coop is back again, and this time she finds herself investigating a murder case at an old ferry slip in Manhattan's Lower East Side. However, the serial rapist soon takes the chase from Manhattan to the abandoned Governor's Island where Alex finds herself in jeopardy.
