This is a good book interested in the history of Dickens' book A Christmas Carol. It gives a lot about his life story, where he came from and his motives. I had hoped for more on the effect of the book on Christmas. It was about 230 pages. For those interested in this subject, it is amust read

Fascinating for fans of Dickens or just Christmas itself.

This was good. But a lot of filler. Makes me want to read some more Dickens though, so that's a good reaction!

An excellent account of Charles Dickens and his writing with the main focus being on "A Christmas Carol" and the effect that it has had on Christmas celebrations worldwide. This is a surprisingly secular story.

It was full of facts about Christmas, publishing and life of Charles Dickens. Some parts were dragging but it was good reading.
