more When I first picked up this book I read 2/3 of it in a day. I just couldn't put it down...then I got burnt out and finished it a month later. Despite that long in-between period this book is spell-binding. Angels of Destruction is an eerie and hauntingly beautiful tale of a woman named Margret who loses her daughter to a radical cult. Ten years later, she welcomes a mysterious little girl into her home and adopts the child as her long lost granddaughter. However, strange and mysterious events follow the girls appearance, especially with her bizarre friendship with a lonely and troubled boy named Sean. Throughout the book, the author weaves a tale of mystery and suspense challenging the reader's perspective of faith, reality and forgiveness. The book is beautifully crafted and reads like a Robert Frost poem. Each chapter is short and detailed like a delicate painting. However, be prepared for an anti-climactic ending that may leave you feeling disappointed and unresolved. This book is highly spiritual in imagery and message. It's definitely one worth reflecting on despite the abrupt ending. I would recommend for a book club, classroom, or anyone who loves high literature but I would not recommend it for beach readers. There's so much you have to read into the dialog and imagery that requires you to constantly be on your toes. Luckily the flow of the book never becomes stale and the mystery only grows with each chapter and each new question. In general I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and I look forward to reading it again someday.
