Great stuff. Not as instantly compelling as Carter Beats The Devil, but a fun romp nevertheless. Chaplin remains an enigma throughout which must have been the intention, but it's hard to put your finger on his genius here. Still there's lots going on and even if some of the loose ends are not wrapped up as satisfactorily as I would have liked, this is a worthy read.
