The book is somewhat timeless (even in 2009, I understand what the author is trying to convey without the need for cliff's notes) and very approachable. I loved and hated this book. Parts of it were amazingly entertaining but other parts bored me to sleep literally. In the end I finished it with this love/hate relationship. I loved and hated this book. Parts of it were amazingly entertaining but other parts bored me to sleep literally. In the end I finished it with this love/hate relationship. I would really enjoy some characters and then they would become people I disliked greatly. I didn't like Mr. Rochester until the end of the novel. The one character that I continued to like during the whole book was the title character. I loved the beginning of this book and the end but the middle was blah. Still it is a classic and I do recommend reading it because it wasn't a waste of time.   hide
