immediately devoured 23 pages right after I bought it this afternoon...the only reason why I had to close the book was that I needed to work.

A page turner. Easy to read. Not compelled to rush out and buy the other two books in the series straight away but will probably read them all eventually.

Fantastic book - a real page turner. Too bad the author passed away before he could write more than 3 books.

I loved how this book really walked you through the investigation. You understood the breakthroughs and felt a part of the process, unlike other crime novels where you just have to accept that the investigators are just smarter than you. I loved the main investigation, but the last half of the book, that goes back to Blomkvist's problem...I didn't like that as well. Not my most favorite...more

This isn't necessarily a review. It's just sort of my take. I thought the book started a little slowly, but once I got into it it was a fairly compelling mystery. It was a "thinking person's" murder mystery not just the usual formulaic stuff. I'm interested to read the next book and am sad that Larsson is no longer with us. I think his best was yet to come.

This book has captivated me...I can't put it down!

Brilliant. Calling this book a thriller doesn't give it enough credit. It has depth and you identify with the characters completely. The original publication is called Men Who Hate Women and that title is more accurate. It is very graphic in places if you have difficulty reading graphic sexual violence, I recommend avoiding this book, but it is handled well.

Unoriginal, pedestrian, not even any great insight into Swedish culture. Can't see what all the fuss is about. Posthumous publishing does not necessarily make great literature.
