Definitely a quick read. Wasn't what I expected, but I don't know what I expected. It was difficult to read because of the tradegy of Precious' life. Just sad, sad, sad!

How do I review this? I need to wash my brain out after reading it. It was horrible. but great. Why would anyone makeup a story so awful? But you can't stop reading. If you cry at headlines about child molesters, don't read it. You'll be traumatized.

This novella is an extremely raw and graphic bout of realism. It provokes you, disgusts you, hurts you, and challenges you. I cannot grasp the mindset of the antagonists within this story. Although I was compelled to read this, I am currently working on dumping the imagery that Sapphire has provided out of my mind.

I am reading this book to get a grip on the human condition, for I feel I can be quite cold. What this child endures is brutal, but her spirit is amazing. I hope this picture wins big at the Oscars.
