a great book as well as a great tool/resource to look back at when questioning your faith. once again lee strobel does it again as he interviews the hieghest authority on each of the toughest questions that believers and non believers alike have asked about thier faith. the only problem with the book is that its harder to prove the existance of God than proving that Jesus was the unique son of God. so its harder to answer these questions than the ones raised in case for christ but besides that dificulty it was a great read and a great resource to fuel not only debates but conversations with non believers in the future   hide

Excellent book. Pro and counter arguments for belief in God presented in philosophical, yet straight-forward language. Read two pages, stop and think for an hour. This book has brought me back to God. The author set out to disprove God by interviewing top religious leaders, philosophers, and educators. Always in a point/counter/point format. Truly amazing. In the end, the author (and I) cannot deny the existence of God.   hide

I have doubts. Heck, I wouldn't have faith if I didn't have doubts. This book cleared up a lot of that mess I kept tossing around in my head. It effectively explained concerns that formulated while I was in my first years of college. I recommend it to anyone who has doubt - and, frankly, that's everybody. Everybody. Even you. Read it!

I had already read "The Case for Christ", which I found quite compelling, so I was very open to the idea. After my devout Christian friend found out that I had read Dawkins' "The God Delusion", he immediately recommended this book to me as a counter-punch. I had already read "The Case for Christ", which I found quite compelling, so I was very open to the idea. I must say, while Strobel should be commended for tackling these tough questions, I was not satisfied with a lot of the answers. What I would call the "minor" issues were dealt with very well, but the responses to what I consider are the "major" issues often defied logic and common sense or raised even more questions for me. Unfortunately there were quite a few! Another complaint is that Strobel only managed to track down experts that appear to be "hard-core" Christians. It would have been good for him to have at least tried to speak to a few skeptics to balance out the views and perhaps even poke holes in the skeptics' arguments. While "The God Delusion" had a fair share of its own flaws, I found Dawkins' book to be more compelling than Strobel's. That said, the jury is still out for me on who is actually right.   hide

Hopefully it will encourage people to research more. I read this book when I was asking questions about Christianity and it was definitely a factor of me coming into my faith. Strobel does a very good job of answering the tough questions about Christianity but there were some questions I really wanted more of. I guess it really should be treated as an introduction to the idea that there are answers out there and encourages the reader to look for them. Highly Recommended.   hide

This book deals with some of the hardest questions one has to deal with in the Christian faith. Chapter by chapter a question is dealt with in interview with some of the world's leading and most respectable scholars. I found it particularly refreshing that questions are dealt with in a very straight-forward way, nothing is shied away from in the question or answer. You may be surprised at how intelligent it is. Biblical exegesis is not really what concerns this book, so some may be disappointed. However, remember that this is about apologetics and not necessarily Biblical interpretation. A second point is that although the answers are thoughtful and many, they are not full academic treatises of the question. I mean, one chapter concerning the question of suffering! It's a great chapter and far superior to many entire books I've read, but the concise nature of the book entails that each answer could be pried into further, more evidence given etc. Overall, a great treatise of the problems of faith and highly readable, thoroughly recommended.   hide

Some of the worst logic I have ever read. I have girls in my debate group that can present a stronger case than this guy.
