Good recap of McLuhan's ideas and passable discussion of how those ideas can help explain what churches are experiencing now, and what "cultural relevance" really means. Also pretty good discussion of how McLuhan's ideas help shed light on "post-modern" culture in general, and what post-modern really means.

This book wasn't as clever as I thought it would but and doesn't hold on to its original originality throughout. This book looses a lot of steam. Anyways, there are some really clever ideas in the beginning. Hipps book is one long tribute to McLuhan which doesn't satisfy my curiousity, so I decide to respect the author and finish, and just go get a McLuhan book and let him teach me...more
