This book shows how a story can have an interesting premise and still bore you to the point of absolute tears. I randomly pulled this off the shelf one day last week at the library and read it this week. Thinking that this might be a light but fun read, I was disappointed when I found that aside the from a few mentions of my beloved Grateful Dead, I was disappointed with the work. Perrotta sets up some fairly interesting character identities which, unfortunately, become predictable or absent, some of them disappearing for large portions of the book and than reappear when convenient. However, the premise and the concepts, plus some atleast fairly solid writing, allows the reader to get through to the conclusion of the tale.
