more "The World is Flat" is a truly fascinating book, especially given the political and economic climate the nation is currently facing. After describing the rise and continuation of globalization to the international sphere, Friedman assesses the positioning of the United States in this trend and makes proscriptions for the country's future endeavors. His conclusions for the future of the country's economy are very positive, but he notes the importance of developing a strong(er) education to support the steps necessary to accomplish it. As new policies are currently aimed at the growth of green jobs and the sciences, however, Friedman's general undertone of creativity and innovation as requisite skills for developing the economy should be underscored.
