Such a great storyteller! A look at the underbelly of Scotland and a flawed detective. Extremely well written!

Ian Rankin's books always keep me turning the page, crime detective stories are one of my favs. This one was no different, and I also enjoy the familiarity of the Edinburgh sites. This one takes us into a little ritual killing, or does it…?

My first(and probably last!!!) Rankin book ... and honestly speaking fairly blah! It just took forever in getting to the point, which was honestly no credit to the protagonist and there was no thrill, suspense or mystery surrounding the story-telling!!

My first Ian Rankin! He's hot. Can't wait to read the rest of them.

Rankin is in my top ten. He used to be much more accessible but fame has curbed his desire or ability to interact with fans. Hopefully there are just too many for him to handle. Rebus is so real. All the Rebus novels are excellent

Liked this little fella too. Seems like it's going nowhere for ages, just pages and pages of interesting scene-setting. Gets there in the end, and delivers.

My very favourite mystery writer ... the weather in Scotland seems pretty close to our coastal rainforest rain and mist ... a great escape and you'll love Rebus ... very much
