I own the individual books in Stephenie Meyer's best-selling vampire series, yet I am going to purchase this collector's set as it is just so beautifully packaged [I saw it at a local bookstore] and Amazon offers a great discount. What is not to like in this wonderful series? All three books tell a compelling tale of love, friendship, and challenges that the main characters have to deal with. At heart, this is a love story between a mortal, Bella Swan, and a vampire, Edward Cullen. The first book in the series, Twilight focuses on the budding relationship between Bella and Edward and how Edward's immortality and specifically vampire nature poses obstacles to their love for each other. New Moon develops the story further as Bella finds herself lost and depressed after Edward decides to leave in order that Bella will have a 'normal' life. This brings lots of turmoil into Bella's life, and also causes her friendship with Jacob Black, the young American Indian who is also a werewolf to develop and strengthen. In Eclipse, Bella and Edward, once again reunited find their relationship tested by Bella's friendship with Jacob, and also a potent threat in the form of an adversary, a female vampire with vengeance on her mind. All in all, this is a highly readable series, not merely entertaining, but well-written, and thoughtfully developed. The characters really grow on you, and as a reader, you really begin to care about them. I truly look forward to the next offering by Ms Meyers, and would recommend this gorgeous collector's set for fans of the genre, and as great holiday gifts for young and not-so-young readers!    hide

i had the first book twilight for a month before i started reading it. my best friend kept telling me to read it but i was tryiing to finish up some other books first, so i kept putting it off. well as soon as i started reading it i was completely hooked. im now half way through new moon and hopelessly in love with it. instead of doing my hmwk, im reading...not so great...but all i can say to my friend now is "why didn't you force me to read this book? i can't believe you set there for a month and let me not read it!" every time im reading i'll call her every couple of chapters and say something like "wat are you doin?!?! it doesn't matter b/c you need to stop it and read!" oh and btw she is still on the first ch. of new moon. she had a whole months start on me and im still way ahead of her!   hide

I couldn't put them down... and I am a very picky, eclectic and voracious reader! Kind of reminds me of a gen X/PG version of Anne Rice. totally agree...my cousin was reading it when i went to montreal and when i got bak to school in ottawa it was the first bookk i took out of the library and i even made my librarian by the whole collection...if im goin to be in high school for two more year i might as well hav funn wit it.....when i be3an to read twilight i just couldnt stop reading..it was lik you r waiting 4 something to...more
