I always forget how short these books are until I pick one up and breeze right through it. That is one of my few complaints about this book: I wish it was longer. It seems like there is so much action in these books that there is hardly any room to move the plot along. However, the plot does move in this book. There is a new enemy to face and a new flock to help.

Something about these books just keep me addicted and I seriously cannot wait until the next one. I have to say I will be sad after I finish the last one (which I have to wait a year for), but I'm hoping for an awesome conclusion!
SUMMARY: CAUTION SPOILERS AHEAD!
Fang has left the flock which has put Max in a kind of funk. She has been becoming more emotional (which is to be expected of a 15 year old girl), but still has to lead the flock because the Doomsday Group (DG) is looking to bring about the apocalypse.
The DG has its plan: "Save the Planet, Kill the Humans!" They plan to wipe out the entire human race, with the exception of the genetically modified kids. They have been brainwashing the nations' kids into thinking that this is a good idea, leading them to rallies to support the group's leader: the One Light. At the rally in Paris, France, the DG plans to blow up everyone that attends and release poisonous gas into the air until it spreads over half of Europe.
Fang saw the DG's propaganda on TV and decided that was what he and his new flock were going to investigate. As you meet Fang's Gang, you start to meet Kate (super strong), Star (super fast), Ratchet (super hearing), and Holden (regenerative abilities). However, Fang wasn't positive that all of these people could fight, so he brought in some security for himself: Max's clone (who now goes by Maya). However, even with all of these amazing powers, Fang still ends up calling Max to work together to save the world from the DG.
Max has been told that she has a part to play in the DG's plan. Max is supposed to become the queen of the world, marry Dylan (who was literally made for her), and start breeding an heir in Germany. Obviously, she's not down with this plan, but her mother convinces her to check out the new Gen 77 kids that she's supposed to lead. On the way, the plane that everyone except Max is in gets destroyed by some sort of trap. Everyone is relatively fine, except Dr. Hans is missing. Dylan and Max decide to check out a nearby school while everyone returns to her mom's house to heal up. Upon their return, they find out about the DG's brainwashing ability and that her mom and Jeb have vanished (just walked out the door and never came back). Ella (Max's half sister) and Iggy get the worst of it because they have become brainwashed. Angel brings them back to reality, but Ella wants her wings and goes back to the DG.
Max and Fang's flocks meet up to stop the DG. Of course, there is a lot of fighting at first, but everyone starts to get along eventually (except Max and Fang). They decide that their groups would be better working together, but separate, so that's how they plan. Eventually, the find a time and location for the apocalypse. However, they still need more information, so they send Angel into the hornet's nest (Gazzy ends up following her). She does find out what is going on and has Gazzy try to disarm the explosives under Paris at the Rally, Fang also tries to help. Meanwhile, Max and the others are trying to get people to realize what is going on. When the explosives go off (Gazzy missed one of many) everyone seems to be okay, except they cannot find Angel. After searching, Fang's Gang heads out. Eventually the flock does as well. In the Epilogue you find out Angel is being held captive.
