Not my favorite in the series, but still decent!

This book provides an interesting account of the Nelson funeral procession up the Thames. The highlight of the narrative, however, is Forrester's description of Hornblower's pathos as he leads his way out of the trap in the Turkish harbor. Delightful.

I'll just say it now: read this series. Mr. Midshipman Hornblower and Lieutenant Hornblower have some of the more enjoyable stories, but the series has very good characters (particularly the lovable character of Bush) and good dramatic sea action.

Excellent! I'm out of books: I need number 6, which I believe is the actual first novel written with the character, Horatio Hornblower, "Beat to Quarters!" Highly recommend this thrilling and intelligent series by a great story-teller.
