Franny and Zooey

By far one of my favorite books. I could read this over and over and feel different about it every time.

Not particulary one of my favorites from Salinger. I enjoyed the first chapter of FRANNY. The second part of the book, ZOOEY, was farrrr too drawn out for me. Not particulary one of my favorites from Salinger. I enjoyed the first chapter of FRANNY. The second part of the book, ZOOEY, was farrrr too drawn out for me. I know Salinger is great with detail, but I thought there was just way too much detail in the second section of the book. All in all, it was okay, not my favorite. What I do know is that if the Glass family were actually real, all the remaining living characters would have died of emphecema, lung cancer, throat cancer, or mouth cancer with all that smoking they did!! My absolute favorite book. Uplifting. Inspired. Makes me feel good. Everyone should read it at least once.

Fans of Salinger will love this discussion. If you hate Salinger, you will hate this even more than you did Catcher in the Rye. I love the intelligence of the characters and the apathy they struggle with.
