The "Wah-wah" Diaries: The Making of a Film

REG records his experience of making his semi-autobiographical film, Wah Wah. He records his often exasperating, sometimes poignant but ultimately satisfying experience with a great sense of humour and wit. Very readable but still insightful. Highly recommended.

Much of this book is an out and out roast of his French producer, Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar (whose name is curtly abbreviated to "MC" halfway through...if this woman was able to work after this book was published, it's a miracle). But his incredible specificity, the bearing of his soul through the film and subsequently on the page gives us such a fresh window into the world of independent filmmaking and, even better, into the mind of Mr. Grant himself.   hide

Didnt enjoy it much.. film was weird too... not a huge success with me sadly
