The Rats

One of Herbert's best.

I loved this book as well as the follow ons. I find after reading his books I jump into something light and funny as books like The Dark and Domain can be heavy and depressing.

The Rats trilogy is great-schlock horror at it's best. I first read the trilogy when I was 13 and loved it. Probably best not to read these late at night if you are feeling twitchy though-you might start imagining scratching sounds emanating from the attic...I remember playing the audio book of Lair to send me to sleep. I slept like a baby, but my ex was terrified...sorry Mr Purnell!
