I don't know when I picked this book up...but it's been sitting on my home bookshelf for over 20 years and I finally decided to read it. It is well written and she must have been in her day a remarkable breath of fresh air. The essays that especially appealed to me were ones that were prophetic for her time...in that, the realities that she foresaw is being played out today in real-time. For one, the tendency of professionals to prognosticate future actions based on history. But the only thing that screws that up is people...real people in real time who react differently to different circumstances. In her words, "...too much confidence cannot be placed on the lessons of history." People who aspire to be involved politically should read this reflective essays.   hide
