Can't remember much but I know I liked it. I also used it for a project in school--I acted it out with my Star Wars action figures. It was nerdy and awesome.
This was written right after the release of the original 1977 film, and so it pales in comparison at times to the scope and depth of other, later books. It's still a good read though, and a classic at that.
I remember seeing the cover when only the first Star Wars movie was out and always wanted to read it. It had its moments like Leia fighting Darth Vader with Luke's light saber, but just didn't fit the eventual plotlines of the Star Wars series.
This is possibly the best Star wars book ever written. Alan Dean Foster is an amazing writer. I have read this one many times. It's a Classic.
Unlike many of the Star Wars Books that I have read, it's not dark and depressing. It is a thrill ride from beginning to end.
Splinter of the Mind's Eye is a Master Piece!
Not too bad. You can definitely tell that the phrases that they use are different from later books. It's just too bad the crystal doesn't play a bigger part.
