It's a classic Niven book, this one is the beginning of the end of the Known space series, so to speak. Its the best and most compelling read of the bunch.
It has everything that makes known space, plus add protectors in the mix. Good Stuff.

Okay, so I fell for this all the way.  Louie Wu and his motley crew, the puppeteers, the whole thing.  Fun, fantastic.

One of my all time favorite SF novels.  Wish I could rate it 10 stars.  Great concepts, fun characters, engaging storyline.  Just read it already!!
