Louis is the centric character in this book, and through his perspective, you could really empathize with him about feeling as if he has been cursed to roam this Earth until the end of time as the abomination he perceived himself to be. Lestat was the ultimate anti-hero. No matter how terrible his behavior was, he plays the part of a power-hungry, egotistical and beautiful on the outside and stone cold ugly on the inside but you can't help but love him, anyway. Some of these newer Vampire franchises should take a page from Rice's book (yet another bad pun) and write a Vampire based series of novels that are actually entertaining.
