more When I was in the 7th grade, I was in my "no one understand me" phase. You know we've all been through it and it's pretty selfexplanitory, but that's besides the point. During this phase I began reading depressing preteen vampire books. They were good, not the best, but good and they left me longing for something more. I found it in this book. Now see, I wanted to prove to people I could read something more than these childish books, so I found this and began reading it. At first it was all over my head, confusing, but as I progressed I began to understand and enjoy it very much. When I finished, I couldn't tell you the first thing about this book. I reread it when I was in the 8th grade and realized that by not understanding it I was missing out on one of the single most amazing books I'd ever read. Anne Rice left me breathless. Every page I turned I felt like I was falling into the book, almost literally. I think this book almost gave me whiplash from all the twists and turns. The plot is so uncrediblly original and it left me stunned. No one writes like Rice.
