It was a little easy to guess whodunit in this one and that's always a bit disappointing. I'd much rather it be a huge yet perfectly plausible surprise at the very end. If I can figure out whodunit then it can't have been a very clever plot after all.
Her descriptions of character, place, events, etc. are great. Concise, but effective. In addition to dialogue, she sometimes includes the characters' thoughts, charitable or not. Makes the characters more realistic.
Since I know the future Wexford is more subtle, I look forward to reading more and seeing how the author effects this change.
