Do not read unless you know the meaning of at 5 keywords of the above, because the tales depends on "finished" tales by Tolkien especially the Silmarillion..

The more complete tale of Tuor, the expansion of information re Galadriel, and the real story of why Gandalf chose Bilbo to burgle [is that a word?] for the dwarves ALONE make this worth the read. There's lots more.

A very interesting read. Great Language but i found it a little dry. wonderfull addition to your Lord of the Rings Library though.

Sort of read it. Its quite hard going and because they are unfinished tales you dont get anything from it so i gave up.

Unfinished means unfinished. I was unsuspectingly drawn by my love of Tolkien; devistation overwhelmed me as I realized that the stories are truely unfinished. Ok, perhaps that's stretching it a bit, but I was dissappointed. If you can't stand stories without an end DON'T READ the BOOK. Otherwise, it's fun to wonder where Tolkien might have taken the stories.

I LOVED it! It expands on the tales just touched upon in TLotR trilogy and in The Hobbit.

great book got really into story.
