Great read. Now that she doesn't want to write more about Lestat, she should do a long anticipated follow up to this novel. Great characters!

I loved it! It left me wanting more, I love how you want to see how they experience a new era, but I don't know if there is a sequel?

I really enjoyed this story. Anne Rice at her best. She sets the book up perfectly for a sequel, but nothing ever came of it. Shame.

Not a fan of the Vampire Chronicles, I nonetheless loved Anne Rice the first time I read her. Her lush, evocative desriptions of New Orleans had me panting to go there...In the Mummy, she weaves another engaging, engrossing work of excitement and yes, some rather erotic passages, as I recall!

This book was more of a love story than Anne Rice's vampire novels. The characters actions I felt were odd and and unbelievable, which is not something I'm used to from Rice. It was however quite enjoyable for the ancient references and the flashbacks.

Worth a read once. I remember being quickly bored with the numerous sex scenes. It's not that I have an issue with sex in my literature, it just seemed to me that they were all pretty much identical in wording. I felt that they were distracting (not in a good way ;-) ) and took away from the overall story. Aside from those, I thought it was a pretty interesting story.
