So much information in a not so big book, takes you through this amazing journey of the development of the western throught.gives you a breif yet profound idea about greek phillosophers ...
Amazing collection and summary of the masterpieces of the work of many great philosophers through out history of man. Truly recomended for Philosophy student.
If you don't have the patience to go through all of the great philosphers and their rather dence works, this book is the one for you. Granted, it glosses over a whole lot, but it gives you a good idea of the ideas that formed Western culture.

As a man thinketh, so is he..This is a fascinating look at the history of Western thought. Written for the non-philosopher it records the major intellectual currents that form the basis of western thinking. He starts in Greece and ends with the post-modern school.
Though I haven't actually finished the book yet due to its density of information, I enjoy reading and contemplating sections and chapters on-the-go and can definitely recommend it as a comprehensive guide to the history of western thinking!
Does anyone know of a book doing the same for the history of Eastern Philosophy?
I have to say I didn't read the whole book. It is very dense and difficult reading but I read most of it for my class.
Reading this book for a class I am taking and it is a slow, dense, but interesting read. I'll update when done.
