Not one of Anne Rice's greatest vampire books, but it's worth reading. I thought the story itself was good, but to me Lestat seemed somewhat out of character in this tale. Even so, this book contains plot elements which are important later in the series, so definitely read it.

This was certainly an interesting story, but apart from the last ending, entirely predictable. It also had a much different feel than the previous three books, which I didn't really like all that much. It's too bad too, this story had a lot of potential. I'll read Memnoch the Devil, but then I may be finished with the Vampire Chronicles.
