In the Balance (Worldwar)

I have to agree with "Oliver" who posted a review above exactly. An excellent idea: Alien invasion of Earth during WW2. But most of the focus is on mundane conversation and relationships while little things like the nuclear obliteration of Washington and Berlin are glossed over. Nontheless the premise is so good I do still want to find out what happens next.

The first in the World War series of Harry Tutledove. This got me hooked on the entire series. Turtledove's mastery of details of history is astounding.

Harry Turtledove hears it time and again, but he is the Master of Alternate History, an absoultely amazing series(i read them all)leaves you craving more, in fact he realeased a continutating 3 novel set called Colonization, takes place 20yrs after this one.
