First King of Shannara

Read the whole series. I was sentenced to read these books for being suspended from school; best thing that ever happened to my reading world.

A prequel to the Sword it is an excellent read. Although it was written after the Sword trilogy and the Scions quartet.

it's a really fantastic book, one of my favourite shannara books so far, it explained a lot about bremen and allanon, and most importantly, about jerle shannara himself, if u r looking for a good read,then u should start with this one, it's amazing

I love all of the Shannara series, their the best! .. Number 1

Like all the Terry Brooks novels I have read, this fantasy yarn is plot driven. The characters are flat, but it is entertaining sword and sorcery stuff.

forgot to mention that I've read all the Shannara books, starting with the Sword of Shannara and was hooked then as I am now

It was really great to be able to go back before Shea to see what happened to get the ball rolling for all the future generations. Like all his books Terry Brooks did a wonderful job with his writing and went above and beyond with the plotline. I am really impressed with the series as a whole and would definitely recommend for any reader to give this series a try.

Good character development. Seemed a little slow to me.

Rather a good fantasy story. I'm interested to read the further works in this series now....Overall, I enjoyed it.
