The Lost World

Reading the book, you'd feel the movie is a big let down.

Excellent edge of your seat reading - could not put it down...

Not as good as JP, but awesome nonetheless. Once again, the book "schools" the movie on sssooooo many counts.

I've read this book too many times to count. I first read it when I grounded in grade 4 or 5... My dad had bought is and it was just sitting in the living room. I had never read an "adult" book before so i just opened up to a random page and started reading. I was hooked! I went back to the beginning and read the whole thing. I've read this book too many times to count. I first read it when I grounded in grade 4 or 5... My dad had bought is and it was just sitting in the living room. I had never read an "adult" book before so i just opened up to a random page and started reading. I was hooked! I went back to the beginning and read the whole thing. And then I read it again... and again. And then I started reading more MC books. This was after Jurassic Park came out as a movie and I had loved it but it scared the crap out of me. Then I heard that the Lost World movie was going to be made and I was so excited!! However, my excitement was to be quite deflated when the movie actually came out. Where was Dr. Thorne? Where was Arby and Kelly? Why did they get molded into one kid that is all of a sudden Malcolm’s daughter?? WTF are the dinosaur's doing in San Francisco? Why the hell is Vince Vaughn there...? And most importantly WHERE IS DR. LEVINE??? He made the whole thing happen. He is one of my favorite characters from a book and they did him a complete injustice by not including him in the movie. If I ever won the lottery I would pay for that movie to be re-made. But yeah, back to the book... it really is an amazing read from start to finish. MC is known for going off on his scientific rants but I found the ones in this book to be really interesting and I even wrote a 12th grade biology paper on the Red Queen effect. Anyone and Everyone who likes science, dinosaurs, or just plain being scared shitless should read this book. I give it 10 velociraptors out of 10.   hide

Entertaining, but reads like a movie script. I loved Jurassic Park and this falls short.

Nowhere near the first one, but still a classic Crichton novel.

A very nice sequel to the first book. Very nicely done compared to teh first. Keeps to character feeligns, story development, and all aorund descriptions of events and characters. This was a fantastic read and much more to get hooked onto then the first book. Very well done in my opinion and a must read to any fan of the movies.
