No matter if you argee with what is being written are not, you will find something to idenify with in this book. At times I have thought as a white female I shouldn't be reading, but a lot of the struggles Ms. Walkers speaks of I too can identify with. I am enjoying this book!
Love the short stories. The title says it all. But have to say, sometimes difficult to relate to the issues of black women in America and how they see the world around them. It's so foreign, but guess that's part of the fascination.
I liked this much better than The Color Purple. The emotion is so accessable. Explores race, class, sexuality, ideals of love... in a way that draws you in no matter what your side of the fence is.
