Not my favorite among John Irving's book. Also read World According to Garp, Hotel New Hampshire, Until I Found You, and another... this ranks at the bottom of all those. Had trouble finishing it.

Irving doesn't disappoint.  His stories are always extremely detailed, with some crazy themes.  This one was no different.  Will continue to read more of his stuff.

I make a point of finishing books that I start, but it just isn't going to happen with this book. I'm not at all invested in the characters nor the storyline. It's unfortunate, because I adore John Irving's books (well, I didn't love Water Method Man or The Fourth Hand), but this one goes back to the book exchange.

Not so easy to recommend this one. I enjoyed many parts of the book, but felt that the ending was rushed and anti-climactic. Several threads were left unresolved, including the mysterious person who prank calls Farokh about his father's death constantly. Big fan of John Irving, but this book rates about a B- in my opinion.
