The Tale of the Body Thief (Rice, Anne, Vampire Chronicles, Bk. 4.)

I think this is one of Anne Rice's Best. It stands out from all the rest of the Vampire chronicle. It's vivid, passionate, sensual, and violently graphic. It just delivers.

Well, it was a good book, but in my opinion it pales in comparison to the previous stories. There was a noticable lack of vivid, detailed descriptions of scenarios, places, etc. that were prevalent in the prequels, but on the other hand it did make for easier reading. Well, it was a good book, but in my opinion it pales in comparison to the previous stories. There was a noticable lack of vivid, detailed descriptions of scenarios, places, etc. that were prevalent in the prequels, but on the other hand it did make for easier reading. My real problem was that the story seemed slighty pointless. Lestat learned and gained nothing from his foray into human experience. I'm not fond of static characters or stories that leave you where you started. Still, it was ok for what it was.   hide

A very good follow up to the first three. I really enjoyed the concept, and especially liked her decision to make David Talbot a main character. Great read.

Best book ever!
