I have been anticipated this one for a while. I heard about it from so many people and I have to say, it was great. I thought it was long sometimes though. I loved that it was in fact Lestat's idea for the Theatre of the Vampires. It certainly countain disturbing events, but for me, I absolutely loved it once Marius finally arrived. It was really interested, and at that point I just could not stop reading. This said, I was expecting to know more about what happens at the end of Interview with a Vampire, but I guess that it will be the case in the next book. Loved it.(49)   hide

Yea.. probably you have done with that. So if you can remember in the last scene of movie we have seen the Lestat(Tom Cruise) back again. Well, this book continues from there!
Okay not from the exact scene, because at first we need to know how the Lestat has been awaken than we are going to learn how he has become a rock star in the 80s (yess). After that our story will become much more deeper with his world vision. Check this out!   hide

Segundo livro da saga vampiresca de Anne Rice, aonde Lestat é o narrador de sua história. Conta como foi sua vida humana no interior da França, como fugiu com o amigo Nicolas para Paris, como foi transformado, como conhece Armand, como, cheio de dúvidas sobre a vida(ou a morte no caso) sai a procura de Marius, o milenar criador de Armand. Conta também a sua versão da vida que teve ao aldo do seu amado Louis e da criança Claudia, mostrando que nem tudo na vida deles era o que parecia. Com esse livro, se tornou o maior personagem das Crônicas Vampirescas. Na minha opinião, é o segundo melhor livro. Segundo livro das crônicas vampirescas de Anne Rice. Podem vir vários Crepúsculos, mas essa é a melhor saga sobre vampiros já escrita. Muita gente vai querer me matar por conta disso, mas sinceramente, Stephanie Meyer não chega aos pés de Anne rice, JK Rowling e Stephen King(autores que as pessoas têm mania de comparar).   hide

In my opinion, this si Anne Rice's shining work in her Vampire Chronicles. While Bram Stoker may have created the ultimate supernatural villian of his time, Anne Rice does the same for ours. Working from the premise that all creatures suffer from the same existential turmoils as mortal men, Anne Rice creates interesting and dynamic characters that pull you in. This is no simple horror novel, but a journey through eons as seen through the eyes of tragically immortal beings. If you have a taste for the macabre, but with sensce of elegance, you'll love The Vampire Lestat.   hide

This is my favorite novel of Anne Rice’s’ and in my not so humble opinion the best of all the Vampire Chronicles. It is the only one of the series that I personally feel transcends the period in which they were written. The Vampire Lestat is a novel that is as engaging (to me) on the 17th read as it was on the first. Lestat is arguably Rice’s most vibrant character and his existential crisis brought on by his violent birth, into vampirism is the driving force that precipitates his Odysseus like journey to self-realization. Admittedly Rice is verbose and there is no shortage on bragging done by both Lestat and Rice as she name-drops her and by extension Lestat’s, expensive education. She uses Lestat to show us the eclectic scope of her literary perusals, her then contempt for the emptiness that is left in the wake of a Catholic upbringing (which after 8 years of Catholic school I understand), the crisis that self examination and self awareness brings to all people who bother to ask those questions at least once in their lives and the pain that society levels on those people foolish enough not to conform, and I love it. I can put this book down while in the middle and not touch it for a year. When I come back I can pick it up right where I left off and continue on until the end without a hiccup. I would not presume to name this book, as one of the great works of literature but it is good.   hide

Realmente el libro olvidado por el mundo de Hollywood, Excasamente se retoma en la ultima cinta LA REINA DE LOS CONDENADOS, pero solo una pizca de la historia del vampiro Lestat. Realmente al leerlo uno se percata de que la cinta de Neil Jordan retomo varios pasajes que uso como escenas en ENTREVISTA CON EL VAMPIRO. como la escena de Claudia cortandose el cabello que en realidad le sucede a Gabrielle, madre de Lestat. sin emvbargo el libro es mas que MAGNIFICO   hide
