Vittorio the Vampire New Tales of the Vampires

Although it has nothing to do with the vampire characters in the original series, it stands as a pretty good book on its own. Easy to read and incredibly dark and macabre, I found it to be original and downright fascinating.

This was one of the two "New Tales of the Vampires" from Anne Rice, the other being Pandora. Personally, I liked this one better than Pandora. It is a standalone story which is a nice reprieve from the extravagant interconnections of the rest of the vampire books. This one is different from other vampire novels in a couple of ways. First, Vittorio does not turn into a vampire until almost the end of the book. Also, to me it was more uplifting at the end than some of the others. It's pretty good. I recommend it.   hide
