A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry Novels)

This is Book 1 in The Merry Gentry series written by Laurell K. Hamilton. I highly recommend the series. The covers of these books are very deceiving ... they look like romance novels, but they are really an intricate dark fantasy series from the author that wrote the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series.

SO FAR THE FIRST CHAPTER WAS GREAT.THE REST OF THE BOOK SHOULD BE JUST AS GOOD. LAURELL K.HAMILTON NEVER LETS HER FAITHFULL READERS DOWN.

i read 140 pages and i got bored, after 140 pages i still don't understand what's a Sidhe, Seelie/Unseelie and where they are from, what they do, their powers etc... and like Anita Blake series it's porn on paper, i just wished she put the same effort writing mystery, action, dialogue and all caracthers developement than all the sex part, if she would, her books would be the best book...more

Well, I always thought that I would like to be a fairy princess, but I am changing my mind now. Apparently they do nothing but have sex and melt people. How boring.

This whole series has more sex, magic and action than any other series I have read. The characters are complicated and have centuries of emotional baggage. The magic is more imaginative and original, yet rings of the old celtic mythologies. It is non-stop and you may cry if you don't have the next book on hand once you finish the one your on. I know I almost did.

Ok, this is "erotica" dressed up as action/fantasy. Having said that...i rocketed through all the Meredith Gentry books.

As a free download, this was an decent novel, being the first in a series, it does leave you wondering at the end, but not enough for me to purchase the next in the series.
